Mexican Man Accused of Killing Two Kids

(PatriotNews.net) – A Mexican man has been accused of stabbing three people, including two children who died from their injuries. Federal authorities confirmed to Fox News Digital that the suspect, Victor Manuel Gomez-Acosta, is in the U.S. illegally. Gomez-Acosta has been charged with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide, attempted first-degree homicide, and operating under the influence after his arrest in Abbotsford, Wisconsin.

The Colby-Abbotsford Police Department reported that the two children were found dead at the scene with stab wounds. An adult woman was also stabbed but received medical care. Gomez-Acosta was found inside the home and was apprehended. He had self-inflicted stab wounds and was taken to a medical center.

According to reports, the victims are Gomez-Acosta’s wife and daughters. The criminal complaint states that the children were found in their bedroom. One child had been stabbed 16 times and the other 20 times. His wife was reportedly stabbed about 17 times, with one wound cutting her vocal cords.

ICE has placed a detainer on him following his arrest on July 9. This means that once he is released from custody, he will be transferred to ICE for deportation.

Gomez-Acosta entered the U.S. legally in September 2016 through a port of entry in Laredo, Texas. However, he failed to leave at the time specified in his entry conditions.

This arrest comes just days before the Republican National Convention, which is being held in Milwaukee. Illegal immigration and border security are expected to be major topics for speakers and delegates, as these issues have become top priorities for voters ahead of the November election.

Republicans have criticized the Biden administration for the ongoing border crisis, which has seen record numbers over the past three years. They blame policies like the narrowing of ICE enforcement and the rollback of Trump-era policies, such as wall construction and the Remain-in-Mexico policy.

Rep. Tom Tiffany, R-Wis., told Fox News Digital, “Time and time again, we have seen the tragic consequences of Joe Biden’s border crisis; yet, the president refuses to reverse course. No town is immune, even our towns up north in Wisconsin are feeling the horrific impact.”

The Biden administration has responded by saying the situation is a hemisphere-wide crisis that requires funding and reforms from Congress to fix what it calls a “broken” immigration system. They have pointed to recent efforts, including an executive order that has limited entries and seen a short-term reduction of 40%. They also note that most southern encounters over the past three fiscal years have resulted in removal, return, or expulsion.
