(PatriotNews.net) – At a rally in Coachella, California, on Saturday, October 12, 2024, a man named Vem Miller was arrested near the event. Authorities say he had loaded guns, fake IDs, and multiple passports, raising serious concerns about his intentions.
Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco gave more details on Sunday. Miller, a 49-year-old from Las Vegas, drove up in a black SUV with a fake license plate and tried to enter the VIP area where former President Donald Trump was speaking. Deputies noticed something off about Miller’s vehicle and decided to look closer. Inside, they found a shotgun, a handgun, and a high-capacity magazine.
Miller’s suspicious behavior didn’t stop there. He had several passports and driver’s licenses, all with different names. Sheriff Bianco mentioned that these are common tactics used by “sovereign citizens,” a fringe group that doesn’t recognize the U.S. government’s authority. While this group isn’t always violent, they often engage in illegal activities.
Sheriff Bianco made it clear that Miller’s actions were alarming. He said that his deputies may have prevented a serious threat, even suggesting this could have been an attempt on Trump’s life. However, Miller, when interviewed after his arrest, denied any wrongdoing. He claimed to be a Trump supporter and expressed shock at the accusations.
Miller was arrested without incident and later charged with having a loaded firearm and a high-capacity magazine. Officials stressed that, despite the scare, Trump and those attending the rally were never in danger. Federal agencies, including the FBI and Secret Service, are still investigating to determine if there’s more to this case.
The Trump campaign has thanked law enforcement for their quick actions and assured supporters that they are staying updated on the situation. While the investigation continues, authorities emphasize that Miller’s actions did not affect the rally or the safety of the attendees.
