Stepfather Murders Son Using Metal Bat

(PatriotNews.net) – A tragic incident in Bridgeport, Connecticut has left a family devastated after a 6-year-old boy was beaten to death with a metal bat. The young boy, Jathan Escobar, was attacked by his stepfather, 38-year-old Abdulrahim Sulaiman, according to police.

Jathan’s family spoke to local news station WFSB-TV, sharing their grief. The boy had been on life support after suffering severe brain damage, but he was pronounced dead on Wednesday. His cousin, Sasha Heron, said, “No matter what was going on, he was always so happy with everybody.”

Sulaiman, who had only been married to Jathan’s mother for a few months, is now facing murder charges with special circumstances. The boy’s mother told police that she had only known Sulaiman for about a year. She also mentioned that he had recently been using PCP, a powerful drug known for causing violent behavior.

On September 25th, Sulaiman allegedly used a metal bat to attack his wife and her children in their apartment on Main Street. The mother screamed for help during the brutal attack, but tragically, Jathan’s injuries were too severe. When police arrived at the scene, they tried to save the boy by giving him CPR. However, they reported that his injuries were so horrific that they could see brain matter through the wound in his head.

Sulaiman has a history of violent behavior and was already on probation at the time of the attack. Following the assault, his bail was raised from $1 million to $10 million, especially after the death of the young boy.

Jathan’s family is now left to mourn the loss of a joyful, loving child. As his cousin said, “He was always so happy and he just enjoyed life altogether.”
