Deported Illegal Immigrant Allegedly Starts Fatal Fire

(PatriotNews.net) – Stockton Mayor Kevin Lincoln spoke about the arrest of a man police believe is behind five deaths in Stockton, California, on the show ‘Lawrence Jones Cross Country.’

First on Fox News, California authorities arrested a man, Jose Carmen Cardona, who has been deported three times. Cardona, 59, is connected to a deadly house fire that killed a mom and two of her kids last month.

Stockton police announced Cardona’s arrest on Friday morning. According to a source, Cardona kept coming back to the U.S. after being deported three times.

The victims of the fire were Lisbeth Gutierrez-Salazar, 32, and her two sons, Juan, 10, and Julian, 7. A third boy, whose name wasn’t released, was the only one who escaped the fire.

They were all sleeping in their mobile home when Cardona allegedly set it on fire. Cardona was dating Lisbeth but wasn’t the father of the kids, police said.

After setting the fire, Cardona ran away. Police asked the U.S. Marshal Service for help after getting an arrest warrant on June 28. A nationwide manhunt ended with his capture in Modesto, about 30 miles from where the crime happened.

U.S. Marshal for the Eastern District of California Lasha Boyden said Cardona was arrested at a bus stop without any trouble. Boyden shared her condolences with the family and called Cardona a “violent offender.”

“I hope that the capture of this violent offender will bring some sense of justice to you and your loved ones,” Boyden said in a news conference Friday afternoon. “This horrific act of violence was felt by all not just in the Central Valley but across our nation.”

Cardona now faces charges of murder, attempted murder, and child endangerment. He also faces special circumstances charges of multiple murder, arson, and torture, which could make him eligible for the death penalty.

Cardona was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail for homicide. He is due in court Monday for arraignment and is being held without bail at the San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp, California.

This tragic event has shocked the community and the entire nation, and people are hoping for justice for the victims.
