Stephen Colbert Critiques Trump Admin's LGBTQ Rights Record During Pride Month Segment

(PatriotNews.net) – The self-appointed comedy “watchdog” of American politics, Stephen Colbert, is barking up the wrong tree as he criticizes Trump for not issuing a Pride Month proclamation while ignoring the disastrous consequences of the Left’s gender agenda on women’s sports.

Colbert’s Selective Outrage Machine Targets Trump Again

Late-night “comedian” Stephen Colbert has found his latest target in the Trump administration’s decision not to issue a Pride Month proclamation. During his show, Colbert unleashed a predictable tirade: “This is shortsighted and long-stupidded and unsurprising. Since taking office, the Trump Administration has curtailed protections around LGBTQ rights, banned trans service members from the military, axed hundreds of millions in LGBTQ health funding, and now said they have no plans to issue a Pride Month proclamation this June.”

What Colbert conveniently ignored is that the administration has instead designated June as “Title IX Month” – a move designed to protect women’s sports from the radical gender ideology that has allowed biological males to dominate female athletic competitions. But protecting women apparently doesn’t fit into Colbert’s virtue-signaling agenda, which seems more concerned with appeasing activists than protecting half the population’s right to fair competition.

When Football Teams Virtue Signal Better Than Comedians

In what might be the most ridiculous comparison of the year, Colbert actually suggested the White House was less compassionate than an NFL franchise because the Buffalo Bills tweeted “Happy Pride.” “No Pride Month proclamation, which means the White House is less inclusive and has less humanity than the Buffalo Bills,” Colbert quipped. Yes, because the true measure of humanity is now determined by how quickly you can type out a performative tweet rather than implementing policies that protect women’s rights.

“Well, there are no plans for a proclamation for the month of June, but I can tell you this president is very proud to be a president for all Americans, regardless of race, religion or creed.” – White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.

The Truth Behind Trump’s LGBTQ Record

What’s conveniently missing from Colbert’s monologue is any mention of Trump’s actual history with LGBTQ issues. Despite not issuing formal Pride proclamations during his first term, Trump acknowledged Pride Month in 2019 and launched a global campaign to decriminalize homosexuality worldwide – something his critics rarely mention. The media memory hole seems to extend to late-night hosts who pretend to be guardians of truth while selectively editing reality.

“As we celebrate LGBT Pride Month and recognize the outstanding contributions LGBT people have made to our great Nation, let us also stand in solidarity with the many LGBT people who live in dozens of countries worldwide that punish, imprison, or even execute individuals on the basis of their sexual orientation. My Administration has launched a global campaign to decriminalize homosexuality and invite all nations to join us in this effort!” – Donald Trump.

The most telling aspect of this manufactured controversy is how it exposes the Left’s priorities. Rather than celebrating the protection of women’s sports and biological reality, they’re upset about the absence of symbolic gestures. Meanwhile, the damage done to women’s athletics by the gender ideology Colbert champions continues unabated. But who needs women’s rights when you can score cheap political points against a Republican administration?
