Willis Allegedly Gave Salary Perks to Wade

(PatriotNews.net) – Special Prosecutor Nathan Wade reportedly received a salary almost double that of other attorneys in District Attorney Fani Willis’ office of Fulton County. This caused concern over the lack of accountability in his invoicing and some major red flags once the invoices were examined.

Defense lawyer Ashleigh Merchant criticized Wade’s $250-an-hour billing, highlighting its vagueness with terms like “drafting” and “team meetings.” Allegedly, Wade claimed credit for drafting motions in the election fraud case against Donald Trump, although evidence suggests other members of Willis’ office handled these tasks.

Merchant, representing Trump’s co-accused Michael Roman, asserted that Willis hired Wade due to their personal relationship, challenging Wade’s lack of experience in felony cases. While staff lawyers in Willis’ office earn up to $175,000 annually, Wade reportedly accumulated over $700,000 since November 2021, alongside his private practice, a privilege not extended to other staff attorneys.

Recent allegations against Willis and Wade involve ethical violations and financial benefits from taxpayers’ money. The American Accountability Foundation (AAF) submitted two ethics complaints, accusing Wade of lying under oath about his relationship with Willis and Willis of misusing campaign funds for personal purposes. AAF urges the Georgia state bar to revoke Willis’ license and permanently bar her from practicing law.

The complaints question Willis’ testimony regarding her reimbursement of Wade and the use of cash without proper documentation. According to AAF, Willis’ admission of keeping campaign money in a “fungible” slush fund represents a violation of Georgia Campaign Finance law, hindering public oversight.

Wade faces accusations of lying under oath about his relationship during divorce proceedings and exhibiting a lack of legal understanding. AAF argues that such dishonesty makes him unfit to practice law, posing a risk to potential clients. In the legal profession, such behavior is deemed unacceptable. It’s hard to find a more straightforward instance of dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation.

Willis and Wade have not yet responded to requests for comment from Fox News Digital.
