Homeless Person Targeted in Fire Attack

(PatriotNews.net) – In Oklahoma City, police are trying to figure out what happened when two homeless people were set on fire on Tuesday. Both were taken to the hospital with severe injuries.

Cory Spencer, who lives near the scene of the crime at West Hefner Road and Western Avenue, shared what he saw and how he tried to help. Spencer told KOCO-TV, “For somebody to do something like that, it’s just cruel.”

Spencer said he was taking out the trash when he saw a young woman on fire from the waist up. “It was like something out of a TV show. I’ve never seen anything like it,” he said. He also saw a man who was on fire and tried to help them both.

Spencer described how he helped the woman. “I put her in the shower, and she turned on the water to put out the flames. Afterward, she came out, sat on the couch, and asked for some water,” Spencer said. The woman’s skin was badly burned.

Spencer also tried to put out the fire on the man. “He was shouting, ‘Is my baby alright?’ while I was putting out the flames on his legs and arms,” he explained.

Allennia Voerster, who owns a cat grooming business called Aristocats, said a homeless camp is located behind her building. Her surveillance cameras captured some smoke from the incident. Voerster said, “It’s shocking. It’s hard to believe.”

Police believe someone may have used an accelerant to start the fire while the victims were sleeping. However, the investigation is still ongoing.

Spencer expressed his disbelief at the cruelty of the act, saying, “For somebody to do something like that, it’s just cruel.” According to KOCO, an investigator mentioned that the woman is not expected to survive, and the man might lose a limb.

The community is left in shock and searching for answers about this tragic event.
