Female Cop Shoots Australian Mall Murderer Who Killed 6

(PatriotNews.net) – A policewoman is being hailed as a hero after taking down a knife-wielding man who killed six people and wounded many others in a Sydney mall on April 13th.

The chaos began around 3:30 p.m. local time when the assailant launched his attack on several people at Westfield Bondi Junction, according to New South Wales Police Assistant Commissioner Anthony Cooke.

The initial investigations reported an individual acting alone and that there are no ongoing threats.

The violent spree left four women and one man dead at the scene, with eight others rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Among those attacked was a 38-year-old mother and her nine-month-old baby. Bystanders tried to assist by applying pressure to their wounds.

The turning point came when a nearby police officer swiftly intervened. She pursued the attacker, and confronted him on the fifth floor of the mall. This is where she fatally shot him as he brandished a knife.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese praised the officer’s bravery. Albanese emphasized that she had confronted the danger alone and prevented further harm.

Albanese praised her as a hero and said she’s the only reason no further deaths happened.

Albanese also commended the efforts of other first responders and medical staff who aided the wounded. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

The assailant has not been publicly identified. Authorities stated that his motive does not appear to be linked to terrorism.

The person authorities suspect has no radicalized motives or connections to terrorist groups. The NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb said during a press briefing that as far as they know the knifeman acted alone, not a part of any organized crime group.

The assailant, reported to be 40 years old, was wearing an Australian rugby league jersey and shorts at the time of the attack.

Authorities are investigating the possibility that he specifically targeted women, although his motivation remains unclear.
