Dem Senator Drops Kamala, Pushes Pro-Trump Ad in Battleground State

(PatriotNews.net) – Pennsylvania Senator Bob Casey Jr. just released a new campaign ad that is raising eyebrows. The ad makes no mention of Vice President Kamala Harris, downplays his ties to President Joe Biden, and instead aligns Casey with former President Donald Trump.

This move comes as Casey faces a tough re-election race against Republican challenger David McCormick, a combat veteran who has gained momentum in recent months. Political analysts, including MSNBC’s Chuck Todd, predict McCormick has a strong chance of winning. Observers see Casey’s new ad as a signal that Democrats are worried Pennsylvania may swing back to Trump.

The ad introduces Marygrace, a voter from Old Forge, who describes Casey as an “independent.” She credits him with “leading the effort to stop corporate greed” and supporting policies to fight inflation. She also points out that Casey “bucked Biden to protect fracking” and sided with Trump on trade issues, such as ending NAFTA and imposing tariffs on China.

However, critics say Casey’s claim of independence doesn’t hold up. Throughout his Senate career, Casey has consistently voted with Democrats, including supporting both impeachment trials against Trump. He’s also backed gun control measures, protected sanctuary cities, and opposed completing barriers along the U.S.-Mexico border.

Although Casey now speaks out about inflation, he voted for both the American Rescue Plan and the Inflation Reduction Act—two of Biden’s major policies, which many Republicans blame for the current economic troubles. Records show that Casey voted with Biden nearly 99% of the time last year, making his attempt to appear independent seem questionable.

The ad’s effort to link Casey with Trump has puzzled many, given the Democrats’ past portrayal of Trump as a dangerous and divisive figure. Some political insiders suggest this strategy reflects Democrats’ internal polling, which may show Trump with a real advantage in Pennsylvania.

Polling data supports this concern. Recent surveys show Trump and Harris nearly tied in Pennsylvania, with voters listing the economy and immigration as top issues. Trump holds a 10-point lead on the economy and a 16-point lead on immigration over Harris.

Donald Trump Jr. mocked Casey’s strategy, tweeting, “You only run this ad if you think Trump is winning PA!” Meanwhile, Trump’s campaign dismissed Casey’s shift, calling it a desperate attempt to survive in a race where the tide may already be turning.
