Vance Accuses Kamala Harris of Plagiarizing in Latest Book Scandal

(PatriotNews.net) – Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance recently mocked Vice President Kamala Harris after a report surfaced accusing her of plagiarism in her 2009 book Smart on Crime: A Career Prosecutor’s Plan to Make Us Safer. Harris, who co-authored the book with Joan Hamilton, is now facing claims that sections were copied without proper credit.

Christopher Rufo, an investigator, brought the accusations to light, saying that large parts of the book were taken nearly word-for-word from other sources without proper citation. According to Rufo, this meets the “textbook definition of plagiarism.” He cited media researcher Stefan Weber, who has exposed plagiarism in other high-profile cases, to back up his findings.

Some passages in the book show minor issues, like poor paraphrasing or small bits of uncredited text. However, other parts appear more serious, raising questions about the book’s overall credibility. Rufo also pointed out that one section even used a questionable source, potentially undermining the book’s conclusions.

Vance wasted no time responding on social media. “Hi, I’m JD Vance. I wrote my own book, unlike Kamala Harris, who copied hers from Wikipedia,” he posted, linking to the report.

This isn’t the first time Harris has faced such allegations. Critics have previously accused her of borrowing a childhood story from civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. In her version, she claims that as a child, she fell out of a stroller during a protest and told her mother she wanted “fweedom.” People have pointed out that this story is strikingly similar to one told by MLK Jr. about a child he saw at a protest.

Vance continued to poke fun at Harris and the media’s possible reaction. “Cue the corporate media ‘fact checkers,’” he joked, suggesting that the media might downplay the accusations. “Kamala Harris only copied some of her book from Wikipedia.”

Harris’ campaign has yet to respond to these plagiarism claims, while Vance’s remarks have stirred plenty of attention online. The plagiarism controversy adds to the challenges Harris faces as she continues her run for vice president.
