Biden Informs Netanyahu: U.S. Won’t Support Israeli Retaliation Against Iran

(PatriotNews.net) – The United States won’t support Israel if it chooses to retaliate against Iran. President Joe Biden informed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of his stance in a recent phone call following Iran’s launch of 300 missiles and drones at Israel. According to reports, Biden conveyed that the U.S. wouldn’t back an Israeli attack on Iran and wouldn’t participate in it. He encouraged Netanyahu to consider the current situation as a victory and advised against further action.

All of this despite previous joint air drills simulating an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities. The Biden administration has distanced itself from supporting Israel in such actions. While emphasizing the U.S.’s commitment to Israel’s security, Biden has discouraged military escalation. This stance aligns with the administration’s efforts to renew a nuclear deal with Iran and avoid further conflict in the region.

The recent attacks from Iran targeted Israel’s military. The only reported casualty was a civilian. Although Israel has the capability to respond, Biden’s message to Netanyahu aimed to prevent further escalation. While acknowledging Israel’s right to self-defense, the U.S. has signaled its reluctance to join any offensive actions against Iran.

The situation remains tense, with Israel’s response to Iran’s attack under scrutiny. The Biden administration is urging restraint and de-escalation, emphasizing diplomatic solutions over military confrontation. The global community, including G7 nations, has condemned Iran’s actions and called for stability in the region.

European Commission President Ursula Von Der Leyen stated that while no decisions were reached, they will contemplate imposing further sanctions on Iran, particularly targeting its drone and missile programs. There was also talk about designating Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corp as a terror group.

Iran’s actions have pushed the region further towards destabilization and raised the risk of triggering an unmanageable escalation in the area.

As tensions persist, discussions among world leaders regarding potential sanctions against Iran and measures to stabilize the situation continue. The Biden administration remains committed to supporting Israel’s security while pursuing diplomatic avenues to address the broader regional challenges.
