(PatriotNews.net) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu congratulated President-elect Donald Trump on his big win in the 2024 election early Wednesday, calling it “history’s greatest comeback.” In a statement, Netanyahu and his wife Sara sent a heartfelt message:
“Dear Donald and Melania Trump, Congratulations on history’s greatest comeback! Your return to the White House is a new beginning for America and shows the strong bond between Israel and America. This is a huge victory! In true friendship, yours, Benjamin and Sara Netanyahu.”
Netanyahu was one of the first world leaders to congratulate Trump. The two had a close relationship during Trump’s first term, but it hit a rough patch when Netanyahu congratulated Joe Biden after the 2020 election—a move that upset Trump, who claimed he was the true winner. However, they reconnected during the 2024 campaign and seem to have put that disagreement behind them.
Much like Trump, Netanyahu made his own political comeback. He was also pushed out of office and faced investigations and legal challenges from his opponents before finding his way back into power. Trump’s win is seen as a positive for Netanyahu and Israel overall. Polls showed that about two-thirds of Israelis preferred Trump as the U.S. president. With Trump’s return, Israel expects to have more freedom in handling threats from enemies in the region. But Trump has also promised to end the conflicts in Lebanon and Gaza, and Netanyahu is aware of Trump’s promises to Arab and Muslim voters as well.
This election outcome could mean big steps toward peace in the Middle East, with potential agreements that might be reached early in Trump’s second term. If all goes well, it could bring stability to the region and benefits for many people on all sides.
