(PatriotNews.net) – Nancy Pelosi recently made statements about former President Donald Trump, saying his “brain is deteriorating” and claiming he would not be fit to complete another four-year term as president. Speaking on MSNBC, Pelosi warned voters that if they vote for Trump, he might not last his entire term, leaving Vice President Vance to take over, which she argued would be “terrible” for the country.
Pelosi used some recent Trump remarks as evidence of her concerns. In Pennsylvania, Trump made a joke referencing being shot, saying someone would need to get past the “fake news” first. Pelosi described this comment, along with other past statements by Trump, as signs of “cognitive degeneration.”
Trump had previously joked about an imaginary situation where he would have to choose between electrocution or being eaten by sharks while on a sinking electric boat. He humorously commented that he would pick electrocution over being attacked by sharks. Pelosi suggested that these statements show “something is very wrong” with Trump’s thinking.
In response, Trump’s campaign strongly dismissed Pelosi’s claims. Karoline Leavitt, the Trump campaign’s national press secretary, released a statement criticizing Pelosi. Leavitt said, “The only thing deteriorating is Nancy Pelosi,” adding that Pelosi is “a corrupt, washed-up politician” who has lost the support of Americans. Leavitt also mentioned that Pelosi should “return to San Francisco,” suggesting she has contributed to its problems rather than helping it.
Pelosi, a Democratic representative from California, has been in Congress since 1987 and has served as Speaker of the House. She has been a frequent critic of Trump, and her comments add fuel to the ongoing political tension between them.
The back-and-forth between Pelosi and the Trump campaign reflects the heated atmosphere as the 2024 election draws near. Each side continues to attack the other, focusing on the opposition’s perceived flaws, with neither showing signs of stepping back from the intense rhetoric.
