Woman Found Alive on Riverbank After Going Missing

(PatriotNews.net) – A sad and strange story unfolded in Nashville recently. A 22-year-old college student named Riley Strain was found dead in the Cumberland River. The police say there were no signs of trauma or foul play, so it’s unclear what happened.

In another event, a woman from New Jersey visiting Nashville was found alive after disappearing. Alexandria Chmiel, 33, went missing early on July 25. After a long search by the Nashville Metropolitan Police and the Nashville Fire Department, she was finally found.

The Nashville Metropolitan Police Department announced on X (formerly Twitter), “BREAKING: Allie Chmiel has emerged from the riverbank and is talking with our investigative team.” This post came after a thorough search around the riverbank area.

Chmiel was visiting Nashville, also known as Music City, with a friend when she went missing. She was last seen on downtown cameras at 1st & Woodland before she got separated from her friend around 2 a.m. The police began searching for her when she was reported missing at 3:42 a.m.

The Nashville Fire Department used drones and ropes to search the area, hoping to find her. When Chmiel was found, the Fire Department posted on X, “the best news we could’ve had!! The missing person has been located! NFD crews are assessing her on scene and preparing to transport her to the hospital.”

A spokesperson for the Nashville Metropolitan Police Department told Fox News Digital that detectives spoke to Chmiel and confirmed there was no foul play. She did not have any serious injuries but was taken to the hospital for evaluation as a precaution.

Earlier this year, a Missouri college student named Riley Strain also went missing in Nashville. He was out with his fraternity brothers when he disappeared and was later found dead. An investigation by the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission cleared local bars of any wrongdoing in Strain’s case.

These two incidents, though very different, remind us of the importance of staying safe and looking out for one another, especially in unfamiliar places.
