(PatriotNews.net) – Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has stirred up some controversy lately with comments he made in a recent interview. Walz, now serving as Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate, was pressed on “Fox News Sunday” about several false statements he’s made in the past. When asked about these claims, Walz downplayed the significance of the lies, referring to them as simple “misstatements.”
During the interview, host Shannon Bream listed a number of questionable statements Walz had made over the years. These include inconsistencies about his military rank, his experience carrying a weapon in war, a DUI arrest from 1995, and even how he and his wife had their children through IVF. Walz had also claimed to have been in Hong Kong during the Tiananmen Square protests in 1989, which was later proven to be untrue.
Bream didn’t hold back, asking how the public could trust him given his record of changing his story so often. She pointed out that most people wouldn’t be able to get away with such behavior by simply blaming passion or poor grammar. She posed a direct question: How could Americans trust him to be a potential commander-in-chief with such a history? Walz responded by suggesting that people understood he was speaking passionately, implying that the details of his misstatements didn’t really matter. He said, “I don’t think people care whether I used IUI or IVF,” before making another false claim that former President Donald Trump opposed IVF treatments. This wasn’t true either, and Bream quickly pointed out that both Trump and his current running mate have been openly supportive of such treatments.
Despite being caught in numerous lies, Walz tried to assure viewers that he would always admit when he “misspoke.” However, his history of bending the truth seems to be raising doubts about whether he’s someone voters can trust.
