(PatriotNews.net) – Former President Donald Trump’s campaign raised an astounding $25 million in one night at a cryptocurrency fundraiser in Nashville, Tennessee on Saturday. David Bailey, CEO of BTC Inc. and the event organizer, stated that many of the donors were new to the Republican Party or politics in general. Trump’s involvement helped draw significant interest and investment.
Senator Bill Hagerty, a junior U.S. senator from Tennessee, played a key role in organizing this fundraiser. Before being elected in 2020, Hagerty served as Trump’s ambassador to Japan. He spent weeks reaching out to donors, encouraging them to support Trump’s campaign.
Trump spoke at the Bitcoin 2024 Conference and held the fundraiser at the Music City Center in Nashville. The conference started on Thursday and ended on Saturday. Attendees included Senators Hagerty, Marsha Blackburn, and Cynthia Lummis, as well as businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, boxer Jake Paul, and musicians Kid Rock and Billy Ray Cyrus. The Winklevoss twins, founders of the Gemini cryptocurrency exchange, were also present.
This fundraiser almost doubled another major event Trump held earlier in the summer in San Francisco. That event was at the home of tech entrepreneur David Sacks. Trump and his running mate, Senator JD Vance, have held several successful fundraisers recently.
Many donors at the Nashville event had never contributed to a political campaign before. Nearly 100 people paid $60,000 each for a photo with Trump, reaching the event’s capacity. The campaign accepted donations in both cash and Bitcoin, including physical Bitcoins, which are rare.
“Bitcoin 2024 in Nashville was a huge success, thanks to President Trump’s involvement,” said Hagerty. “There is a natural connection between the Republican Party, which values liberty and freedom, and Bitcoin supporters. President Trump’s speech was one of the best on Bitcoin and crypto. The conference had an electric atmosphere because of him. His message is expanding the Republican Party and bringing in new supporters, donors, and voters.”
Trump’s team was very pleased with his reception from the cryptocurrency community. “As the Bitcoin conference showed, President Trump wants our nation to lead in technology, innovation, and manufacturing,” said senior Trump campaign adviser Brian Hughes. “That includes crypto. Innovators in crypto and tech are under attack from Kamala Harris and the Democrats. President Trump aims to remove these obstacles and fulfill his vision for the future.”
The Republican National Committee has released a website outlining how Democrats, including President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, have opposed cryptocurrency.
