(PatriotNews.net) – Donald Trump, the newly elected president, has announced Karoline Leavitt as his pick for White House press secretary. At just 27 years old, Leavitt will be the youngest person ever to hold this position. Her appointment breaks a record set in the Nixon administration, where Ron Ziegler was press secretary at age 29.
“Karoline Leavitt did an incredible job as the National Press Secretary during my historic campaign,” Trump said in a statement. “She’s smart, tough, and an excellent communicator. I’m confident she’ll do a fantastic job delivering our message to the American people as we work to Make America Great Again.”
Leavitt expressed gratitude on social media shortly after the announcement. “Thank you, President Trump, for believing in me. I am humbled and honored. Let’s MAGA!” she wrote.
Leavitt gained attention during Trump’s campaign as a fierce advocate for him, especially as he faced political and legal challenges. She defended Trump on issues ranging from efforts to keep him off the ballot to his lengthy court battles, even referencing attempts on his life. Her outspoken support for Trump and willingness to challenge critics helped solidify her reputation as a key ally.
“Even in the darkest times, President Trump shows the courage to fight for this country,” she said in a recent television interview. “The American people clearly see him as a leader who will stand strong to preserve democracy.”
Before this role, Leavitt served in Trump’s first administration as assistant press secretary under Kayleigh McEnany. In 2022, she ran for Congress in New Hampshire, winning the primary but losing in the general election.
Her appointment comes as Trump moves quickly to assemble his Cabinet. Other notable selections include Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to lead Health and Human Services and Marco Rubio as Secretary of State. Matt Gaetz has also been tapped as Attorney General.
A number of other candidates were reportedly in the running for the press secretary role, including legal adviser Alina Habba and campaign spokesman Steven Cheung, who was named communications director earlier.
Trump’s fast-paced selection of his team reflects his stated commitment to hitting the ground running in his second term. “The American people gave him a clear mandate to fulfill his promises,” Leavitt said, echoing Trump’s “America First” agenda.
With Leavitt now at the podium, Trump’s administration is taking shape, ready to push forward with their plans.
