Kennedy was speaking at an event hosted by former President Donald Trump at the Falk Productions manufacturing facility in Walker, Michigan.
During his speech, Kennedy took a playful jab at Harris, mocking her frequent references to being born in the “middle class” when responding to tough questions. Kennedy joked that Harris uses her middle-class background as a way to dodge difficult questions.
Kennedy told the crowd, “All you need to know are seven words, and you’ll never have to admit to anything again: ‘I was born in the middle class.'” He then led the audience in a back-and-forth, encouraging them to join in on the joke.
He asked, “The next time your boss asks why you were late, what are you gonna say?”
The audience responded with enthusiasm, “I was born in the middle class!”

Again, the crowd shouted, “I was born in the middle class!”
Kennedy wrapped up the joke by saying, “That’s all you need to know, and you won’t have to answer any more questions!”
This playful moment came just days after Republican vice presidential nominee Sen. JD Vance made a similar comment, criticizing Harris for often talking about her middle-class roots instead of addressing issues like inflation or the border crisis.
At a rally earlier in the week, Vance said, “They ask Kamala what she’s going to do about inflation, and she responds by talking about growing up in a middle-class family. What does that have to do with lowering prices?”
Kennedy’s humor and Vance’s criticism both highlighted what they see as Harris avoiding substantial answers, while the rally attendees enjoyed the lighthearted take.
