(PatriotNews.net) – On Friday, Vice President Kamala Harris gave a speech at Wilkes University’s McHale Athletic Center, addressing a packed crowd. The event, however, was interrupted by pro-Palestinian protesters. One protester shouted, “You’re supporting a war criminal!” before being escorted out. Another protester soon followed, yelling “Free Palestine” as he was removed from the venue.
Harris responded to the outbursts calmly, saying, “I respect your voice, but right now, I am speaking,” before continuing her speech.
The Vice President had been introduced by Mary Grace, a local nurse who described herself as a former Republican, unable to support Donald Trump anymore. After thanking several Pennsylvania leaders, including Senator Robert P. Casey Jr. and Governor Josh Shapiro, Harris dove into the main issues of her speech.
Referencing a recent ABC News debate, Harris highlighted key concerns facing Americans. She spoke about lowering the cost of living, supporting small businesses, and protecting reproductive rights. She also touched on national security, emphasizing that these were the issues that mattered to everyday families.
Harris criticized Trump, calling his ideas “the same old show” with “no plan” to help the American people. She accused him of favoring billionaires with tax cuts while slashing programs that benefit regular Americans. Harris also mentioned what she called a “Trump sales tax,” which some think refers to Trump’s tariff policies.
In her speech, Harris called for unity, saying, “We are not going back” and urging for a “new way forward.” She stressed the need for a president who works for all Americans and rejects division. “People are exhausted with that stuff,” she said, noting how tired citizens are of the country’s ongoing divisions.
Governor Shapiro, who introduced Harris, gave a strong endorsement, saying his administration had shown that government can get things done for the people.
Meanwhile, Trump’s Pennsylvania spokesman, Kush Desai, criticized Harris and the Biden administration, blaming them for inflation and rising costs of living. He claimed that Pennsylvanians would prefer Trump’s leadership over the current administration’s policies.
