(PatriotNews.net) – Actor Zachary Levi, known for his role as the superhero in “Shazam!,” has publicly endorsed former President Trump for the 2024 election. Levi made his announcement during an event in Michigan this past Saturday, where he was moderating alongside former Democratic Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard and former presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
At the event, Levi explained that he initially supported RFK Jr. for president, but after Kennedy suspended his campaign, he decided to back Trump. Levi stated, “In a perfect world, I might have voted for Bobby, but we don’t live in a perfect world. Our country is in serious trouble, and we need someone who can fix it.”
Levi added that he grew up in a conservative Christian household, and his family taught him to be cautious of government overreach. He called RFK Jr. the “real deal” and the kind of politician he hoped to support. However, he now believes that of the two remaining major candidates, Trump is the only one who can “take back the country” and “make it great again.”
During his speech, Levi emphasized that America is at a critical point. “We’ve got people who want to drive this country off a cliff,” he said. “President Trump is the man who can stop that.”
This endorsement is particularly interesting, as Levi is a Hollywood actor, a field that tends to lean liberal. However, Levi has previously sparked controversy for going against the grain in his industry. In early 2023, he criticized Pfizer, the pharmaceutical company, in a social media post, saying he “hardcore agrees” with a statement questioning the company’s impact on the world. His comment led to backlash from some of his more left-leaning fans.
Levi’s role as Shazam in the DC movies and his performance in the TV series “Chuck” have made him a well-known figure. Yet, it’s his recent outspoken political views that have captured headlines, as he continues to challenge the expectations often placed on Hollywood actors.
Neither Levi nor the Trump campaign has commented further on the endorsement.
