Man Found Dead After Confessing to Anti-Trump Attacks

(PatriotNews.net) – Michigan man was found dead after he allegedly told police he would confess to crimes involving an ATV, targeting supporters of former President Trump and law enforcement.

One incident involved a four-wheeler that struck an 80-year-old man placing Trump signs in his yard. The elderly victim was hospitalized on Sunday and remains in critical condition.

On Monday, the Hancock City Police Department received a message from someone on Samson Street in Quincy Township. The caller said they wanted to “confess a crime involving an ATV driver within the last 24 hours”, according to a press release from the Houghton County Sheriff’s Office. The caller also asked police to “send someone to pick me up,” the release stated.

Officers and deputies went to the address and found a 22-year-old male suspect who was “deceased with a single self-inflicted gunshot wound”, the sheriff’s office said.

The City of Hancock Police Department released photos of an ATV driver suspected in three politically motivated crimes. The police obtained a search warrant for the residence and recovered several electronic devices. These devices will be examined by computer forensic specialists.

Authorities found additional evidence at the scene, including the four-wheeler used during the incident and the clothing the suspect wore.

The press release stated that the crimes reported in Hancock “appear to be politically motivated, involving victims who displayed Trump election signs and law enforcement stickers and flags commonly referred to as ‘thin blue line’ paraphernalia.”

The Hancock Police Department said an ATV driver ran into an 80-year-old man placing signs in his yard expressing support for Trump and law enforcement.

“The Houghton County Sheriff’s Office and the Hancock Police Department do not condone any violence against any political candidates. There is no further threat to the public at this time,” the press release said.

The sheriff’s office said no more details would be released due to the ongoing investigation.

Other agencies that assisted at the scene included Houghton City Police, Michigan State Police, Mercy EMS, Houghton County Medical Examiner’s Office, and the FBI Field Office from Marquette, Michigan.

On Sunday, the Hancock Police Department responded to three different incidents that appeared to be politically motivated. Two of these involved vehicles that were intentionally vandalized.
