(PatriotNews.net) – Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) shared strong opinions about former President Donald Trump on CNN’s State of the Union this Sunday. Cheney said Trump is simply too unstable, depraved, and cruel to serve as president, arguing that he’s shown these traits over and over.
Cheney pointed out that many former high-ranking officials from Trump’s own administration are now speaking out against him. She argued that the American public should take these warnings seriously. “The Trump campaign, JD Vance—they know how damaging it is for the American people to hear all these senior officials saying that Trump is unfit. So they try to distract with stories that have no connection to the truth,” Cheney explained. She believes these are desperate attempts to silence critics and cover up Trump’s faults.
Cheney referenced former White House Chief of Staff General John Kelly, who recently spoke out about Trump. She noted that people understand Kelly’s criticisms are a warning about Trump’s character. “The American people know that this is who Donald Trump really is. They know he has no conscience, that he’s erratic and chaotic, and, yes, that he is cruel. These former officials are speaking out because they see how dangerous he is,” Cheney said.
On a different note, Cheney spoke about Vice President Kamala Harris, saying she is confident that Harris, if ever called to serve as president, would work to unite the country. Cheney said she’s spoken with Harris and feels she would be a leader who listens to different perspectives and focuses on doing what’s right for the country.
Cheney encouraged the media to show more footage of Trump in action. She believes that the more people see of him, the clearer it becomes that Trump is not suited for leadership. “Every time Trump speaks, he reminds us why he shouldn’t be in the White House,” Cheney said. Her comments highlighted her firm belief that a president should have steady character and act in the country’s best interest, qualities she feels Trump lacks.
