(PatriotNews.net) – Liberal icon and feminist author Naomi Wolf surprised many by endorsing former President Donald Trump, praising him for “being more inclusive.” During an interview with Steve Bannon on his War Room podcast, Wolf discussed why she chose to back Trump, describing the Republican Party under his leadership as the new “unity party.”
Wolf, who once advised Democratic campaigns for former President Bill Clinton and former Vice President Al Gore, has a long history in progressive circles. However, she explained that Trump’s approach has broadened her perspective. “President Trump did something very smart,” she said, pointing out that he has aligned himself with figures like former independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, and entrepreneur Elon Musk. “He’s being more inclusive,” she explained, noting that Trump now speaks to the concerns of “black people, white people, Puerto Rican people, Hispanic people, women, men—it doesn’t matter.”
Bannon pressed her on what drove her, a prominent feminist and progressive, to support Trump. Wolf shared that a personal experience helped change her mind. A friend had invited her to hear Trump speak at an event in Bedminster, where he addressed a group of Orthodox Jews about peace in the Middle East. Trump’s words about ending conflicts and “no more wars” moved her. “The way these people, who have been persecuted and harassed for centuries, reacted to his plans for peace was very moving,” Wolf said.
She admitted that her views on Trump had previously been shaped by mainstream media, which labeled him as “a fascist, a misogynist, a racist.” But seeing him in person gave her a new impression. “I saw someone who was eloquent, articulate, thoughtful, and even funny,” she said. Although she noted that she didn’t agree with all his jokes, she saw him as a “serious person” who genuinely wanted to promote peace in the Middle East and save innocent lives.
Wolf is also the author of Facing the Beast: Courage, Faith, and Resistance in a New Dark Age and previously wrote an essay apologizing to conservatives for the Democratic Party’s reaction to January 6 footage. Her endorsement of Trump signals a major shift in her political stance and has sparked conversation about unity across party lines.
