Hurricane Season Funds at Risk as $640 Million Goes to Immigrants

(PatriotNews.net) – The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has admitted that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) doesn’t have enough money to handle the rest of the hurricane season. Despite this, $640 million is being spent by DHS on helping illegal immigrants, raising concerns over priorities during a time of disaster.

DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said, “We are meeting the immediate needs with the money we have. We’re expecting another hurricane, but FEMA doesn’t have the funds to make it through the season.” This is worrying because hurricane season doesn’t end until November 30, meaning we could still see more storms.

Congress recently passed an emergency bill to give FEMA more than $20 billion for hurricane relief. However, last year, $640 million was given to DHS to help communities deal with the influx of illegal immigrants. This has angered some officials, like Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody, who argues the funds are being misused. She says the money was “laundered” into illegal immigrant programs that should’ve gone toward disaster relief.

“This isn’t a new issue,” Moody pointed out. “We’ve been warning about this since this administration took over. Mayorkas has taken funds that should be used for critical programs like FEMA and diverted them for his own projects. Now, Americans are paying the price.”

Moody warned that by diverting money away from FEMA, the administration is encouraging more illegal immigration while leaving Americans vulnerable during natural disasters.

In the aftermath of a recent hurricane that hit Florida and several other states, at least 190 people have been confirmed dead. As states like Florida, North Carolina, and Georgia struggle to recover, frustration with the administration’s handling of both disaster response and immigration continues to grow.

Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump has been more proactive. He visited Valdosta, Georgia, where he delivered truckloads of supplies to help those affected by the storm. He promised that more relief would be coming to other states in need, such as North Carolina and Tennessee.

Trump’s efforts have drawn a clear contrast to the current administration’s actions, which many view as lacking in both focus and compassion during this critical time.
