(PatriotNews.net) – The mother of Colt Gray, a 14-year-old suspect in the Apalachee High School shooting, reportedly called the school to warn of an “extreme emergency” just before the tragic incident took place. According to a report, Marcee Gray texted her sister, Annie Brown, after the September 4 shooting in Georgia, saying she had contacted the school counselor that morning. She claimed she urged the school to immediately check on her son.
Annie Brown told reporters that Marcee had learned something troubling about her son that morning, and it was serious enough for her to call the school, fearing a potential disaster. However, Brown did not specify what her sister had learned that made her so concerned.
Marcee’s call to the school lasted about 10 minutes and happened at 9:50 a.m., roughly 30 minutes before the shooting began. Witnesses claim that Colt Gray opened fire at the school, killing two students, Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo, both 14, as well as two teachers, Richard Aspinwall, 39, and Cristina Irimie, 53. Nine others, including eight students and one teacher, were injured during the tragic event.
Brown shared that a school counselor told Marcee during the call that Colt had mentioned something about a shooting earlier that morning. Another student in the same class reported that an administrator had come to Colt’s math class around the same time but had mistaken another student for Colt due to a similar name. Neither Colt nor the other student were present when the administrator arrived.
In the months leading up to the shooting, Colt had reportedly been seeking help, but Brown believes that those around him failed to act. Colt’s family had a complicated history, with both his mother and father facing legal troubles. His father, Colin Gray, was arrested shortly after the shooting on multiple charges, including involuntary manslaughter, for allegedly allowing his son to access a weapon. Colt is being charged as an adult with four counts of felony murder.
