(PatriotNews.net) – Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has connections with a Muslim cleric, Imam Asad Zaman, who has shared troubling content online, including praise for Adolf Hitler and support for the terrorist group Hamas. These posts included official statements from Hamas and links to a film that promotes antisemitic views. The film, titled “The Greatest Story Never Told,” has been described as propaganda by the Anti-Defamation League.
Despite this, the Walz administration has given over $100,000 to Zaman’s organization, the Muslim American Society of Minnesota. This group has been linked to the Muslim Brotherhood in the U.S., according to federal prosecutors. The Muslim American Society has faced criticism before. In 2019, a video showed children at one of its events calling for violence against Jews.
Zaman has also been vocal about his support for Palestine and criticized U.S. politicians for condemning Hamas’ attacks on Israel. He has publicly questioned whether Palestinians have the right to defend themselves and reaffirmed his support for their struggle against what he calls the Israeli occupation.
The connection between Walz and Zaman goes beyond just financial support. Zaman has attended several events with Walz, including a security meeting at a mosque and a Ramadan event hosted by the governor. In 2020, during the unrest following George Floyd’s death, Zaman and Walz appeared together at an event promoting peaceful protests.
Zaman’s support for Palestine and his ties to Walz have raised concerns, especially given his past statements and actions. Some have questioned why Walz has maintained these connections, particularly in light of Zaman’s controversial views and actions. Despite these concerns, Walz has not publicly addressed the issue.
The Harris-Walz campaign has so far declined to comment on the matter. This silence has only added to the controversy surrounding their relationship with Zaman and his organization.
