(PatriotNews.net) – The cause of death for Frank Fritz, former co-host of American Pickers, has been confirmed just a month after his passing at the age of 60. According to a death certificate obtained by TMZ, Fritz’s death was due to “late sequela of cerebral infarction.” This essentially means complications from a stroke he had earlier played a role in his passing. As reported by Deadline, Fritz also suffered from other health issues, including aortic stenosis—a heart condition that restricts blood flow—and COPD, a chronic lung disease.
Frank’s stroke, tied to cerebral vascular disease, affected the blood vessels and circulation in his brain. The heart condition, aortic stenosis, made it harder for his heart to pump blood throughout his body, which only added to his struggles.
Fritz passed away in late September 2023. He was a familiar face to millions as the co-host of the History Channel’s American Pickers from 2010 to 2020. Alongside Mike Wolfe, his long-time friend and co-host, Fritz traveled across the country, hunting for rare antiques and unique American collectibles. Some items they resold, while others found a permanent spot in their personal collections.
After Fritz’s passing, Wolfe shared an emotional tribute. “It’s with a broken heart that I let you know Frank passed away last night,” Wolfe said. “I’ve known Frank for over half my life, and what you saw on TV is exactly what he was—funny, sensitive, and always dreaming big. He was the same guy off camera as he was on it.”
Wolfe reflected on their many adventures together. “We’ve driven countless miles and been on so many trips. I feel lucky I was with him when he took his final journey home. I love you, buddy, and I’ll miss you every day. I know you’re in a better place.”
Fans of American Pickers will remember Fritz not just for his eye for antiques but for his warm personality and genuine love of the hunt. His absence will leave a lasting void both on the show and in the hearts of those who knew him.
