(PatriotNews.net) – Former Clinton adviser Dick Morris believes Donald Trump will achieve an “electoral landslide” in the next presidential election, facing off against Kamala Harris. Speaking on The Jeff Katz Show recently, Morris predicted a massive win for Trump, suggesting he could pull in around 360 electoral votes, leaving Harris with only about 100. Morris described this as an “absolute wipeout,” explaining that he doesn’t expect the race to be close at all.
Morris thinks Trump will probably win the popular vote by a slim margin, but that slim margin will translate into a big win in the Electoral College. Reflecting on Trump’s 2016 victory over Hillary Clinton, he noted that even though Clinton won the popular vote by about 2.6%, Trump still took the presidency through the Electoral College. Morris believes Trump could achieve something similar this time around, possibly carrying every swing state except, maybe, Wisconsin.
According to Morris, Trump has a good chance of winning traditionally close states like Georgia, Arizona, Nevada, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. He even suggested that Trump might surprise everyone by picking up Virginia and Minnesota, which haven’t gone Republican in recent elections. Katz, the host, agreed and admitted he also had a “sneaking suspicion” that Trump could win Virginia. Morris responded that Trump’s chances in the state look “very good.”
When Katz asked if a Trump win would help Republicans down the ballot, Morris predicted it would. He said he expects Republicans to hold onto the House and possibly gain five or ten more seats. In the Senate, Morris sees the GOP picking up seats in West Virginia, Montana, and possibly Ohio. He explained that in close Senate races, if the Democrat is polling under 50%, it usually means undecided voters will likely go Republican. Morris said this is because, in his words, “if you’re undecided, it’s like saying you don’t want to stay with the same person next year.”
Finally, Katz asked about Harris’ attempts to paint Trump as an “elite billionaire.” Morris dismissed this, saying Trump doesn’t look out-of-touch at all, and that Harris’ strategy isn’t working. In his view, Trump is coming across as strong and relatable.
