Elise Stefanik to Become U.N. Ambassador at Trump’s Request

(PatriotNews.net) – Elise Stefanik, the House Republican Conference Chair from New York, has been nominated by President-elect Donald Trump to serve as the next U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. Announced on Sunday, the nomination highlights Stefanik’s reputation as a strong supporter of Trump’s “America First” policies.

In a statement, Trump praised Stefanik as a capable leader who will work to protect America’s interests on the global stage. “Elise is an incredibly strong, tough, and smart America First fighter,” he said. “I am honored to nominate her to serve in my Cabinet as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.”

Stefanik gained national attention in 2021 after replacing Liz Cheney as the House GOP Conference Chair. Since then, she has played a key role in Republican efforts, including helping the party regain control of the House in the 2022 midterms. Earlier this year, Stefanik made headlines for her work addressing antisemitism on college campuses, earning respect from her colleagues for her dedication to the issue.

Upon accepting the nomination, Stefanik expressed her gratitude and eagerness to serve. “I am truly honored to earn President Trump’s nomination,” she said. “This is a humbling opportunity, and I look forward to earning the support of my Senate colleagues as we work to restore America’s leadership in the world.”

Stefanik emphasized the challenges ahead, pointing to rising antisemitism and the effects of what she described as “weak U.S. leadership” over the past four years. “Our national security has suffered, and our standing with allies and adversaries has been diminished,” she remarked. “I am ready to work with President Trump to bring back America First peace and strength on the world stage, starting from Day One.”

During Trump’s first term, his administration took bold stances at the U.N., including withdrawing from the World Health Organization and cutting its $450 million funding. These moves were part of Trump’s criticism of the organization’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As U.N. ambassador, Stefanik will have the opportunity to advance Trump’s vision of international partnerships that prioritize American security and prosperity. With her track record, she seems poised to take on the role with determination and focus.
