Dem Governor Dodges Questions About Harris and Biden Policy Differences

(PatriotNews.net) – Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro faced tough questions on NBC’s Meet the Press on Sunday when asked to explain any policy differences between Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden. The exchange highlighted a growing concern among voters about how a Harris presidency might differ from the current administration.

During the interview, host Kristen Welker noted that many voters worry Harris would simply continue Biden’s policies. “Our latest NBC poll shows more people are concerned that Vice President Harris will follow Joe Biden’s approach than that Donald Trump will repeat his own first-term policies,” Welker said. She then asked if Harris has “done enough to distance herself from President Biden.”

Shapiro avoided giving a direct answer, saying, “This race is not between Kamala Harris and Joe Biden—it’s between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. And the contrast there is clear.” Instead of discussing differences between Harris and Biden, Shapiro focused on the upcoming election between Harris and Trump.

Welker pressed him further: “Polls show many Americans feel Biden’s policies have hurt them more than they’ve helped. So, can you name one key policy difference between Harris and Biden? How would her administration be different?”

Shapiro responded by praising Harris’s focus on tax cuts for small businesses and expanding child care tax credits. But when asked again for a specific policy difference, Shapiro doubled down: “The contrast I’m focused on is between her and Donald Trump,” he said. “That’s where the real difference lies.”

The exchange didn’t go unnoticed by other guests on the show. Brenden Buck, a former adviser to Republican House speakers, later commented, “It’s surprising that even with Governor Shapiro acting as a campaign surrogate, they still can’t say how Harris’s presidency would differ from Biden’s.”

Shapiro did confirm that he will continue campaigning for Harris, emphasizing the importance of Pennsylvania in the election. “We know elections here come down to just a few thousand votes,” he said. “This one will be no different.”

As the 2024 election approaches, the challenge for Harris remains clear: convincing voters that her leadership would bring meaningful change, not just a continuation of Biden’s policies.
