(PatriotNews.net) – Actress Esta TerBlanche, known for her role in the soap opera “All My Children,” passed away suddenly on Thursday at the age of 51. The cause of her death is not yet known, and an investigation is ongoing.
TerBlanche’s goddaughter, Barbie Ashley, shared with TMZ that the South African actress was found dead in her Los Angeles home. Medical experts believe she had been deceased for about a day before she was discovered.
“It’s with a heavy heart that I announce my friend and client Esta TerBlanche passed away Thursday of natural causes,” said her publicist, Lisa Rodrigo, as reported by Deadline. “An autopsy report is pending. I am still processing and in shock.”
Rodrigo continued, “Esta was a beautiful soul inside and out. I was proud to know her and work with her. More details will come in the days ahead. Thank you for all the messages so far. If I haven’t replied, I will soon. May she rest in peace with the angels.”
TerBlanche first gained fame in 1991 when she was crowned Miss Teen South Africa. She then moved into acting and became best known for her role as Gillian Andrassy on “All My Children,” appearing in 110 episodes.
Her acting career also included roles in TV shows like “Spin City,” “Egoli: Place of Gold,” and “The Syndicate,” according to her IMDb page.
At the time of her death, TerBlanche was living between South Africa and California. She is survived by her ex-husband and her goddaughter.
