(PatriotNews.net) – In Mississippi, a mother stood her ground by delivering her two sons to the authorities upon recognizing them on a wanted poster for allegedly firing shots at a police officer. That’s what you call stepping up as a dependable informant.
When she laid eyes on their faces, she was in disbelief. The unnamed mother recounted to WMC-TV the instant she spotted her teenage sons’ images on a wanted poster from the Holly Springs police department, and it hit her hard.
She told reporters that she’s not one to mess around when it comes to her kids. If the police are after them, she won’t stand in their way. She mentioned that if you commit a crime, you have to face the consequences. It’s as simple as that. Despite her firm approach, the situation was deeply emotional for her.
The woman’s sons, aged 17 and 18, are facing accusations of firing two bullets at a pursuing police officer after purportedly evading him during a traffic stop in the early hours of April 9th.
After firing the shots, the suspects allegedly fled into the woods on foot, and their images were subsequently caught on a door camera of a nearby residence.
The Holly Springs Police Chief Darryl Bowens released a statement to WMC-TV that it was a very dangerous situation for officers, drivers on the interstate, and any pedestrians.
Just a day after the incident, the teens’ mother handed them over to authorities.
Her boys insisted they were innocent, and she hopes their names will be cleared after an investigation. She’s clinging onto hope, but if they are guilty, she wants them to be out of her house and learning their lesson behind bars. She leads a quiet life and simply does not want to be bothered with criminal activity inside of her home.
The mother remarked that her children don’t get into trouble. They keep to themselves and do not bother anyone. They’re usually at the house playing video games. This whole ordeal has been completely shocking for her.
The boys were charged with aggravated assault of a police officer.
Their names have not been released.
Police have interviewed a third person of interest in the case, but have not charged them, WMC-TV reported.
