(PatriotNews.net) – Trump 2024 senior campaign adviser Chris LaCivita shared his thoughts on the recent criticism of JD Vance and President Biden’s decision not to run in 2024, leaving Kamala Harris as the front-runner. LaCivita’s comments came during an interview on ‘The Brian Kilmeade Show.’
On Sunday, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., suggested that former President Trump should replace Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio, as his running mate. Schumer spoke about this on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” calling Vance an “incredibly bad choice.”
“It’s an incredibly bad choice,” Schumer said. “I think Trump is watching TV and every day sees Vance do something more extreme and weird. Vance seems more erratic and extreme than Trump himself.”
Schumer pointed out that Trump still has about ten days before the Ohio ballot is finalized to make a decision. “Does he keep Vance, who already has a lot of baggage, or pick someone new?” Schumer questioned.
Recently, the left has criticized Vance for a 2021 interview where he called some Democrats “childless cat ladies.” Vance said, “We are effectively run by a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable and want to make the rest of the country miserable too.” He specifically mentioned Vice President Harris and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y.
LaCivita defended Vance, saying his comments were taken out of context. He stressed that the Trump-Vance campaign is not against “childless women,” contrary to what some media outlets claim.
Vance, known for his book “Hillbilly Elegy,” gained national attention when Trump chose him as his running mate. Vance’s story about growing up in Appalachia and becoming a Yale Law School student was also made into a Netflix movie.
At a rally in Minnesota, Vance addressed recent criticisms from Kamala Harris, who questioned his loyalty to the country. Vance, a Marine veteran, responded strongly, “I served in the Marine Corps, went to Iraq, built a business, and my running mate took a bullet for this country. What has Kamala Harris done to question our loyalty?”
Schumer believes the Democrats have a strong border policy, better than what Republicans offer. He said the plan was supported by Republicans initially but claimed Trump wants border chaos to use as a campaign issue. “We wanted to fix the border, but Trump and his team wanted chaos for political purposes,” Schumer said.
