Security Guard Killed, Teens Face Charges

(PatriotNews.net) – A tragic event occurred early Monday morning in Jackson, Mississippi, where a security guard was shot and killed at a convenience store. According to police, Roy Love, aged 60, was working at M&M Food Express on Cooper Road when the incident took place.

Jackson Police Chief Joseph Wade held a news conference to provide details on the case. He explained that around 1:30 a.m., Love approached three teenagers—two 17-year-old boys and one 16-year-old boy—and asked them to leave the store. Instead of leaving, the teenagers attacked Love. They overpowered him, took his weapon, and then shot him with their own gun.

Chief Wade said the teenagers’ main motive was to steal Love’s firearm, and sadly, they were successful in doing so. Despite having a gun already, they wanted to take Love’s weapon too.

The entire incident was captured on video, and Chief Wade noted that Love never even had the chance to draw his own gun during the confrontation. After the shooting, two of the teenagers ran away on foot, while the third fled on a bicycle.

The police acted quickly, and within hours, they had arrested all three suspects. They have all been charged with capital murder for their roles in the death of Roy Love.

This heartbreaking incident highlights the risks faced by security personnel, even in everyday situations. Love was simply doing his job, trying to ensure the safety of the store and its customers, when he encountered these violent teenagers.

The Jackson community is mourning the loss of Roy Love, a man who was just trying to make a living and keep people safe. The police continue to investigate the case, but for now, three young lives are also changed forever by this senseless act of violence.

Anyone with further information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Jackson Police Department. They hope to bring some justice and closure to Roy Love’s family and friends during this difficult time.
